The Whole School Programs at Wungong Primary School are evidence-based, best practice. These provide clarity and certainty to our students and staff, allowing us to focus more on skill development and the understanding of concepts.

Our Whole School Literacy programs are Heggerty (Kindy, Phonological awareness) UFLI (Year PP-2, phonics), Word Origins (Year 3-6, Spelling and Reading through meaning) and Talk for Writing (K-6, writing through oral language). This set of programs was designed with the Dyslexia Speld Association of WA and supports students to be literate and numerate so they can flourish in High School.

In Mathematics our whole school programs are Explicit Maths Program (Years PP-3, extending up to Year 6 by 2029) and Maths Heroes (Year 4-6). Through these highly structured, rigorous programs we focus on the development of number facts, place value and working mathematically.

Our programs in literacy and numeracy incorporate regular daily reviews. This allows our students to revisit prior learning in a sequenced way and shift learning from short-term to long-term memory.

Grow Your Mind is our whole-school (K-6) Social-Emotional Learning Program. This program gives our students strategies to look after their mental health, build resilience and develop respectful relationships. It is evidence-based, Australian and fun!
